The title of our poster was: “The use of a milk replacer with a high content of crude protein in the practical rearing of calves”.
A healthy gut is the key to a healthy pig. In order to give the piglet the best conditions for a successful start, it is important to support intestinal development as early as possible in a positive way – preferably even before birth through the mother sow’s diet. Promoting early feed intake also has a positive influence on the development of the intestinal microbiome and the intestinal barrier.
In this context, our feeding concepts offer suitable highly digestible energy concentrates, various feed supplements and a wide range of milk replacers and innovative special feed products.
In the DVT video series “FutterFragen”, we explain how rumen-stable fat powders are produced and the efficiency benefits they offer.
High-yielding dairy cows need sufficient energy above all, but their feed intake is limited. Rumen-stable fat powders are therefore an important component of the ration in order to provide cows with an optimum supply of energy.

The title of our poster was: “Use of a rumen-stable combination of fat, lecithin and methionine in dairy cows in practice”.
Rumen-stable fats (BEWI-SPRAY®) allow an effective energetic enhancement of the ration without providing substrate for methanogenic microorganisms. Methane emission is even reduced in relation to the higher energy supply per unit of “milk volume produced“.
By using rumen-protected amino acids (BEWI-FATRIX®) and rumen-stable fats (BEWI-SPRAY®), dairy cow rations can be optimized in terms of protein and energy source use. At the same time, these products enable the targeted reduction of nitrogen, phosphorus and methane emission per kg of milk.

The 19th BOKU symposium Animal Nutrition 2021 had the general topic “Animal Nutrition between animal welfare and environment protection”.
The symposium was held for the first time as a digital web conference. We were again represented with a scientific contribution.

A combination of rumen-protected methionine and lysine makes it possible to optimise protein efficiency and to reduce common protein carriers without performance losses.
An addition of rumen-protected methionine shows positive effects on metabolism and liver health.
