Targeted support for metabolism around calving

Around calving, a dairy cow’s nutrient requirements change significantly. As milk production begins, energy requirements increase, while feed intake is initially limited. The body mobilizes fat reserves, which also increases the demands on liver and energy metabolism.

Methionine, choline and vitamin B2 perform complementary functions: methionine and choline are closely linked via methyl group metabolism and can partially relieve each other. Methionine is also required for the formation of the body’s own proteins, while choline contributes to fat transport out of the liver. As a component of coenzymes, vitamin B2 supports key processes in energy metabolism.
