1.10 Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke consent you have already given at any time. The legality of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.

1.11 Right to Object to Data Collection in Special Cases and to Direct Marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
IF DATA PROCESSING IS CARRIED OUT ON THE BASIS OF ART. 6 PARA. 1 LIT. E OR F GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME, ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR AFFECTED PERSONAL DATA, UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENSE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION ACCORDING TO ART. 21 PARA. 1 GDPR).

If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.

1.14 SSL or TLS Encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

1.15 Information, Deletion, and Correction
Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipient, and the purpose of data processing, and, if applicable, a right to correction or deletion of this data. For this and other questions on the subject of personal data, you can contact us at any time at the address provided in the imprint.

1.16 Right to Restriction of Processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. For this, you can contact us at any time at the address provided in the imprint. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:

If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the review, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.

If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it for the exercise, defense, or assertion of legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of deletion.

If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21 para. 1 GDPR, a balancing of your interests and ours must be carried out. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.

If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data – apart from its storage – may only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.

4. Data Collection on this Website

1.18 Cookies
Our website uses so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies) on your device. Session cookies are automatically deleted after the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or an automatic deletion by your web browser occurs.

In some cases, cookies from third-party companies may also be stored on your device when you enter our site (third-party cookies). These enable us or you to use certain services of the third-party company (e.g., cookies for processing payment services).

Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary because certain website functions would not work without them (e.g., the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies are used to evaluate user behavior or to display advertising.

Cookies that are necessary for carrying out the electronic communication process (necessary cookies) or for providing certain functions you desire (functional cookies, e.g., for the shopping cart function) or for optimizing the website (e.g., cookies for measuring web audience) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimized provision of its services. If consent for the storage of cookies has been requested, the relevant cookies are stored exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR); consent can be revoked at any time.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or generally, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.

Insofar as cookies from third-party companies or for analysis purposes are used, we will inform you separately about this within the framework of this Privacy Policy and, if necessary, request your consent.

1.19 Cookie Consent with Consentmanager.net
This website uses the cookie consent technology of Jaohawi AB to obtain your consent for the storage of certain cookies on your device or for the use of certain technologies and to document this in a data protection-compliant manner. The provider of this technology is Jaohawi AB, Håltegelvägen 1b, 72348 Västerås, SE, Website: https://www.consentmanager.net/ (hereinafter “consentmanager”).

When you enter our website, the following personal data is transferred to consentmanager:

Your consent(s) or the revocation of your consent(s)
Your IP address
Information about your browser
Information about your language settings
Time of your visit to the website
Furthermore, consentmanager stores cookies in your browser to be able to assign the given consents or their revocation to you. The data collected in this way is stored until you ask us to delete it, you delete the consentmanager cookies yourself, or the purpose for data storage ceases to apply. Mandatory legal retention periods remain unaffected.

The use of consentmanager is for the purpose of obtaining the legally required consents for the use of certain technologies. The legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c GDPR.

Data Processing Agreement

We have concluded a data processing agreement with consentmanager. This is a contract required by data protection law, which ensures that consentmanager processes the personal data of our website visitors only according to our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

1.20 Server Log Files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

Browser type and browser version
Operating system used
Referrer URL
Hostname of the accessing computer
Time of the server request
IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources.

The collection of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimization of its website – for this purpose, the server log files must be recorded.

1.21 Contact Form
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact data you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and for the event of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

The processing of this data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, insofar as your inquiry is related to the fulfillment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) if this has been requested.

The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent for storage, or the purpose for data storage ceases to apply (e.g., after your inquiry has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

5. Analysis Tools and Advertising

1.22 Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyze the behavior of website visitors. The website operator receives various usage data, such as page views, duration of stay, operating systems used, and origin of the user. This data may be summarized by Google in a profile that is assigned to the respective user or their device.

Google Analytics uses technologies that enable the recognition of the user for the purpose of analyzing user behavior (e.g., cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google about the use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

The use of this analysis tool is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior to optimize both its website and its advertising. If corresponding consent has been requested (e.g., consent to store cookies), processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.

IP Anonymization

We have activated the IP anonymization function on this website. This means that your IP address will be shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services related to website and internet use to the website operator. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Browser Plugin

You can prevent the collection and processing of your data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

More information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google’s Privacy Policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

Data Processing

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Storage Period

User and event-level data stored by Google that is linked to cookies, user IDs (e.g., User ID), or advertising IDs (e.g., DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID) will be anonymized or deleted after 14 months. Details can be found at the following link: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7667196?hl=de

Google Ads

The website operator uses Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising program of Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Google Ads enables us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters specific search terms into Google (keyword targeting). Furthermore, targeted advertisements can be displayed based on user data available to Google (e.g., location data and interests) (audience targeting). As the website operator, we can quantitatively evaluate this data by, for example, analyzing which search terms led to the display of our advertisements and how many ads led to corresponding clicks.

The use of Google Ads is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the most effective marketing of its services and products.

6. Newsletter

1.23 Newsletter Data
If you wish to subscribe to the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you, as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data is not collected, or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.

The processing of the data entered into the newsletter registration form is based exclusively on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke the given consent to the storage of data, the email address, and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the “unsubscribe” link in the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you have provided to us for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from the newsletter distribution list after unsubscribing. Data stored by us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.

After your unsubscription from the newsletter distribution list, your email address may be stored in a blacklist by us or the newsletter service provider to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist will only be used for this purpose and will not be merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not time-limited. You can object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.

1.24 MailChimp
This website uses the services of MailChimp for sending newsletters. The provider is The Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

MailChimp is a service that can be used, among other things, to organize and analyze the sending of newsletters. If you enter data for the purpose of receiving the newsletter (e.g., email address), this data will be stored on MailChimp’s servers in the USA.

MailChimp is certified under the “EU-US Privacy Shield”. The “Privacy Shield” is an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the USA that aims to ensure compliance with European data protection standards in the USA.

With the help of MailChimp, we can analyze our newsletter campaigns. When you open an email sent with MailChimp, a file contained in the email (a so-called web beacon) connects to MailChimp’s servers in the USA. This allows us to determine whether a newsletter message has been opened and which links, if any, have been clicked. Technical information is also collected (e.g., time of retrieval, IP address, browser type, and operating system). This information cannot be assigned to the respective newsletter recipient. It is used exclusively for the statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.

If you do not want MailChimp to analyze your data, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose, we provide a corresponding link in every newsletter message. Furthermore, you can also unsubscribe from the newsletter directly on the website.

Data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter.

Further details can be found in MailChimp’s privacy policy at: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/.

Conclusion of a Data Processing Agreement

We have concluded a “Data Processing Agreement” with MailChimp, in which we oblige MailChimp to protect our customers’ data and not to pass it on to third parties.

7. Plugins and Tools

1.25 YouTube with Extended Data Protection
This website embeds YouTube videos. The operator of the pages is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

We use YouTube in extended data protection mode. According to YouTube, this mode means that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to this website before they watch the video. However, the extended data protection mode does not necessarily exclude the transfer of data to YouTube partners. For example, YouTube establishes a connection to the Google DoubleClick network – regardless of whether you watch a video.

As soon as you start a YouTube video on this website, a connection to YouTube’s servers is established. The YouTube server is informed which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Furthermore, after starting a video, YouTube may store various cookies on your device or use comparable recognition technologies (e.g., device fingerprinting). In this way, YouTube can obtain information about visitors to this website. This information is used, among other things, to collect video statistics, improve user-friendliness, and prevent fraud attempts.

Further data processing operations may be triggered after the start of a YouTube video, over which we have no influence.

The use of YouTube is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offerings. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.

Further information on data protection at YouTube can be found in their privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

1.26 Vimeo without Tracking (Do-Not-Track)
This website uses plugins from the video portal Vimeo. The provider is Vimeo Inc., 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA.

When you visit one of our pages equipped with Vimeo videos, a connection to Vimeo’s servers is established. The Vimeo server is informed which of our pages you have visited. In addition, Vimeo obtains your IP address. However, we have configured Vimeo so that Vimeo will not track your user activities and will not set cookies.

The use of Vimeo is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offerings. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.

Vimeo is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield, which aims to ensure the processing of personal data in the USA according to EU standards.

Further information on the handling of user data can be found in Vimeo’s privacy policy at: https://vimeo.com/privacy.

8. Own Services

1.27 Handling of Applicant Data
We offer you the opportunity to apply to us (e.g., by email, post, or via an online application form). In the following, we inform you about the scope, purpose, and use of your personal data collected during the application process. We assure you that the collection, processing, and use of your data comply with applicable data protection law and all other legal provisions, and that your data will be treated with strict confidentiality.

1.28 Scope and Purpose of Data Collection
If you send us an application, we process your associated personal data (e.g., contact and communication data, application documents, notes from job interviews, etc.) to the extent necessary for the decision on establishing an employment relationship. The legal basis for this is § 26 BDSG-neu under German law (initiation of an employment relationship), Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (general contract initiation) and – if you have given consent – Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. Consent can be revoked at any time. Your personal data will only be passed on within our company to persons involved in processing your application.

If the application is successful, the data you submitted will be stored in our data processing systems on the basis of § 26 BDSG-neu and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR for the purpose of carrying out the employment relationship.

1.29 Data Retention Period
If we cannot offer you a job, you reject a job offer, or withdraw your application, we reserve the right to retain the data you submitted for up to 6 months from the end of the application process (rejection or withdrawal of application) based on our legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Subsequently, the data will be deleted and physical application documents destroyed. The retention serves, in particular, as evidence in the event of a legal dispute. If it is apparent that the data will be required after the 6-month period (e.g., due to an impending or ongoing legal dispute), deletion will only take place when the purpose for further retention ceases to apply.

Longer retention may also occur if you have given corresponding consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) or if legal retention obligations prevent deletion.

1.30 Inclusion in the Applicant Pool
If we cannot offer you a job, there may be the possibility of including you in our applicant pool. If you are included, all documents and information from the application will be transferred to the applicant pool to contact you in the event of suitable vacancies.

Inclusion in the applicant pool is based exclusively on your express consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). Giving consent is voluntary and is not related to the ongoing application process. The data subject can revoke their consent at any time. In this case, the data will be irrevocably deleted from the applicant pool, unless there are legal reasons for retention.

Data from the applicant pool will be irrevocably deleted no later than two years after consent has been given.

9. Audio and Video Conferences

1.31 Data Processing
For communication, we use online conference tools, among others. If you communicate with us via video or audio conference over the internet, your personal data will be collected and processed by us and the provider of the respective conference tool.

The conference tools collect all data that you provide/use to use the tools (email address and/or your phone number). Furthermore, the conference tools process the duration of the conference, start and end (time) of participation in the conference, number of participants, and other “context information” related to the communication process (metadata).

In addition, the tool provider processes all technical data required for the execution of online communication. This includes, in particular, IP addresses, MAC addresses, device IDs, device type, operating system type and version, client version, camera type, microphone or speaker, and the type of connection.

If content is exchanged, uploaded, or otherwise provided within the tool, this will also be stored on the servers of the tool providers. Such content includes, in particular, cloud recordings, chat/instant messages, voicemails, uploaded photos and videos, files, whiteboards, and other information shared during the use of the service.

Please note that we do not have full control over the data processing operations of the tools used. Our possibilities are largely determined by the corporate policy of the respective provider. Further information on data processing by the conference tools can be found in the privacy policies of the respective tools used, which we have listed below this text.

1.32 Purpose and Legal Bases

The conference tools are used to communicate with prospective or existing contractual partners or to offer certain services to our customers (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b GDPR). Furthermore, the use of the tools serves to generally simplify and accelerate communication with us or our company (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Insofar as consent has been requested, the respective tools are used on the basis of this consent; consent can be revoked at any time with effect for the future.

1.33 Storage Period
The data directly collected by us via the video and conference tools will be deleted from our systems as soon as you request us to delete it, revoke your consent for storage, or the purpose for data storage ceases to apply. Stored cookies remain on your device until you delete them. Mandatory legal retention periods remain unaffected.

We have no influence on the storage period of your data that is stored by the operators of the conference tools for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the conference tools directly.

1.34 Microsoft Teams
We use Microsoft Teams. The provider is Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA. Details on data processing can be found in Microsoft Teams’ privacy policy: https://privacy.microsoft.com/de-de/privacystatement.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider of Microsoft Teams and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Microsoft Teams.
