BEWI®-SAN Defender

Safe weaning, sustained performance
Weaning is one of the most critical phases in feeder calf rearing. BEWI®-SAN Defender stabilizes the rumen to prevent performance drops during the transition to an exclusive solid feed ration.

When weaning leads to performance decline

Feeder calves consume only small amounts of solid feed at the beginning of the weaning phase. The entire group must be slowly accustomed to solid feed without experiencing performance drops.

Attention must be paid to the quality and nutrient content of the feedstuffs used. The proportion of rapidly degradable starch should not be too high (risk of acidosis).

To ensure safe weaning with consistently high feed intake, even under stressful conditions, supporting rumen metabolism is advisable.
